The activity involves treading through steep hills, dense forest vegetation, streams and rivers as well as thick shrubs. Gorilla trekking in Uganda is done in only two national parks located in Southwestern Uganda that is Bwindi impenetrable forest national park and Mgahinga gorilla national park.

It should be noted that Bwindi impenetrable forest has four sectors where gorilla trekking is carried out that is Ruhija, Buhoma, Nkuringo and Rushaga. Mgahinga gorilla national park hag only one gorilla family called Nyakagezi and it can be easily accessed by all tourists that come to visit the Pearl of Africa.

By Road
Bwindi national park is approximately 540 kilometers from Entebbe international airport via Mbarara Kabale road.

By Air
Both scheduled and chartered flights can be organized by Aero Link to either Kisoro or Kihihi airstrip
