This 9 days primate safari takes you to Kibale, Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi, Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo national park. These are some of the most rewarding and exciting activities one should not miss in a lifetime.

A must not miss is a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel in Queen Elizabeth national park where you are rewarded with opportunities of seeing a lot of animals that come out of the bushes to quench their thirst.

Detailed 9 Days Primate Safari itinerary

DAY 1: Arrival and transfer to the hotel

On the first day of your itinerary, you will arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where you’ll be warmly welcomed. Our team will assist you with immigration formalities, and then you’ll be transferred to your booked facility in time for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY2: Transfer to Kibale Forest NP

After served breakfast, check out of the lodge and transfer to Kibale forest national park also known as the primate capital of the world. The journey itself will provide you with beautiful views of lush greenery and abundant wildlife.Enroute stop at Fort Portal for lunch before embarking on the journey to the national park as you pass through the lush green vegetation with tea plantations near Isunga park headquarters creating a beautiful scenery of the landscape. Arrive at the lodge in time for evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay

DAY 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and afternoon Bigodi swamp

This day begins with an early breakfast to fuel your exciting day ahead. You’ll embark on an unforgettable chimpanzee trackingadventure in Kibale Forest. Before entering the forest, you are required to go for briefing first at Kanyanchu tourism information centre where later you will be allocated in groups of six persons and with the help of an experienced ranger guide from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), you’ll trek through the dense forest trails, encountering these intelligent primates in their natural habitat. In the afternoon go for a visit to the Bigodi swamp where you will be rewarded with opportunities of seeing other primates and more bird species forexample Rwenzori turaco,Superb sunbird, Black and white shrike flycatcher, Hairy breasted barbet,  Black crowned waxbill, Yellow billed barbet and Western nicator among others. In the evening return to the booked facility in time for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay

DAY 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you’ll transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a scenic journey that showcases the beauty of Uganda’s landscapes. Have lunch enroute and later arrive at the booked facility and check in. In the afternoon, go for a game drive in the park as you get to see a lot of animals. It should be noted that Queen Elizabeth is one of the top tourist destinations in Uganda. In the evening, return to the booked facility in time for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY5: Game Drive and Boat cruise

Early in the morning, you’ll start with a fulfilling breakfast and briefing. You’ll then embark on an exhilarating game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you’ll have the chance to spot a wide range of wildlife, including elephants, buffalos, and various antelope species. After the game drive, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch and later in the afternoon go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel where you will be rewarded with opportunities of seeing a school of hippos as well as Pelicans at the Pelican point. You also get to see the elephants and other animals that come out of the bushes in the hot afternoon to drink water on the shores of Kazinga channel. In the evening return back to the lodge for lunch in time for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay

DAY 6: Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha

After breakfast, you’ll embark on a game drive in the park and later transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha sector. Ishasha Sector, known for its famous tree-climbing lions so a good day you can be able to spot tree climbing lions before exiting the park as you enter into Bwindi. Arrive at the booked facility in time for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay

 DAY 7: Gorilla Trekking Experience and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

This is the highlight of your itinerary – the gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. After breakfast and a briefing, you’ll embark on a thrilling trek through the dense forest, guided by experienced trackers. Lunch will be packed, giving you time to rest and reflect on this extraordinary experience. Tourists should take note that during the gorilla habituation experience they are allowed one full hour with the mountain gorillas. Coming face to face with these creatures is one of the most rewarding experiences you should not miss in a lifetime on your trip to the Pearl of Africa. Later transfer to Lake Bunyonyi arriving at the booked facility in time for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay

DAY 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After served breakfast, check out of the facility and transfer to Lake Mburo national park. Enroute stop at Igongo cultural centre for lunch and later embark on the journey to the national park. Arrive in the afternoon and check in then later in the evening go for a game drive around the park

Return to the lodge in time for relaxation, dinner and overnight

DAY 9: Transfer to Entebbe for departure

After early served breakfast, check out of the facility and transfer to Entebbe. Enroute stop at the equator for lunch and also do some shopping of souvenirs to carry for your loved ones. Later embark on the journey to Entebbe arriving in time for your international flight back home.
