Our 3 days gorilla trekking safari starts in Kigali and ends in Kigali. The journey will take you to Volcanoes National Park, also known as Parc National de Volcans, famously known to be home of the mountain gorillas. You are also given the opportunity to visit the genocide memorial site, where guides will take you through the horrific events that happened in the year 1994. Volcanoes National Park has over 7 habituated gorilla families where tourists are allowed to spend one full hour with these gentle giants.

Tracking involves hiking as you pass through the dense forests and the steep mountain. Coming face to face with these mountain gorillas is one of the most rewarding, thrilling, and unforgettable experiences one should not miss in a lifetime. These 3-day gorilla trekking tour gives you the opportunity to explore diverse cultures as you get to visit the Ibyiwacu, also known as the gorilla guardians’ village. You get to learn more about the history of the land of a thousand hills, most especially through kingship.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met and greeted by a Corners of Earth safari representative who will later transfer you to Volcanoes National Park. Enroute stop at the Kandt museum and learn more about the leadership history of the people of Rwanda. Later, embark on the journey to Volcanoes National Park, arriving at the booked facility in time for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and cultural visit

This is the highlight of your itinerary. After breakfast and a briefing, you’ll embark on a thrilling trek through the dense forest, guided by experienced trackers. As you encounter a family of gentle giants, you’ll have a precious hour to observe these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. Lunch will be packed, giving you time to rest and reflect on this extraordinary experience. In the afternoon, go for a visit to the Ibyiwacu, also known as the gorilla guardian’s village. Later, return to the lodge for evening relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali

After served breakfast, check out of the facility and transfer to Kigali, arriving in time for your international flight back home.
