By Road

It is 8-9 hours drive to Bwindi from Entebbe international airport and a 4×4 wheel drive is recommended. Alternatively, tourists who come through Kigali international airport can access Bwindi by road as well either through Kyanika or Katuna border. From Kigali international airport via Kyanika border is approximately 215 kilometres while through Katuna is approximately 175kilometers. Tourists who do not want to spend a very long time on the road driving from Entebbe to Bwindi find Kigali as the best option to shorten the distance

By Air

Tourists who don’t like spending a lot of time driving are always advised to contact their tour operators on time such that they can book for them flights on time. There are both scheduled and chartered flight from Entebbe international airport and Kajjansi airstrip. There are flights conducted by Aero Link Uganda and Bar Aviation. Tourists can use these to Kihihi airstrip or Kisoro airstrip to save time.
