The Kilembe Trail is a less-travelled but equally rewarding route that takes about 8-9 days to complete, while the Mahoma Trail is a shorter, 3–4-day trek ideal for beginners or those with limited time.

The best time to visit Mount Rwenzori is during the dry seasons, which run from December to February and from June to August. However, the Rwenzori Mountains can be trekked year-round but be prepared for muddy trails and unpredictable weather during the wet seasons.
