11 Days Lion Experiential Safari

Our 11 days lion experiential safari takes you to Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi, Lake Bunyonyi, and Lake Mburo National Park. It should be noted that Uganda’s national parks reward you with opportunities to see a lot of wildlife as well as explore diverse cultures within and out of these protected areas. Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park, a primate capital of the world, rewards you with opportunities to see other primates like vervet monkeys, olive baboons, red tailed monkeys, and L’hoests monkeys.

The lion tracking experience is the major highlight of this itinerary and is only done in Queen Elizabeth National Park, also known as Uganda’s top tourist destination. With the help of the Uganda Carnival Program (UCP) team, tourists track the lions, as the team always knows where exactly these lions have moved at that particular time since they are being tracked.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Meet and greet at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to your chosen hotel. Relax and enjoy a welcome dinner by the lake.

Day 2: Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park

Pick up from your hotel and enjoy a scenic drive through Uganda’s countryside and tea plantations. Stop for lunch en route before arriving at Murchison Falls National Park. Check in to a lodge overlooking the Nile and enjoy a romantic dinner at sunset.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park

Morning game drive in Kasenyi Plains to spot lions, elephants, buffaloes and antelopes. Return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise along the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls, where you can spot hippos and crocodiles. Evening bush dinner under the stars.

Day 4: Ishasha Sector and Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Drive to the southern Ishasha sector, famous for tree climbing lions. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild. Return to the lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park for afternoon leisure including swimming or a couples massage. Evening sunset drinks followed by dinner.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Morning game drives in the Kasenyi Plains and Ishasha region to spot lions and other wildlife. Afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel for hippos, elephants and bird watching. Evening romantic dinner at the lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Drive through scenic countryside and rolling hills to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Stop en route for a picnic lunch. Evening check in at a lodge with mountain views and a cosy fireplace.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

After breakfast, embark on a guided gorilla trekking experience, spending up to an hour observing a gorilla family in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Evening private dinner surrounded by the sounds of the forest.

Day 8: Bigodi Wetland and Transfer to Kibale Forest

Morning guided walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for bird watching and primate spotting. Continue to Kibale Forest National Park in the afternoon and check in to your lodge. Evening at leisure with dinner.

Day 9: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest

After breakfast, head into Kibale Forest for a guided chimpanzee trekking adventure. Observe chimpanzees and other primates in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch and optional afternoon forest walk. Evening dinner at the lodge.

Day 10: Lake Bunyonyi

Day 11: Departure
