Tour Plan

Arrive at Kigali International Airport where your driver-guide will meet you for a short briefing. If time allows, enjoy a brief Kigali city tour including the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Depart southwest towards Nyungwe Forest National Park, passing tea plantations and beautiful hill country along the way. Arrive at your lodge near the park, check in, and enjoy dinner surrounded by misty rainforest.

Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a briefing before your chimpanzee trek. Follow experienced trackers deep into Nyungwe’s ancient rainforest, listening for the calls of wild chimps echoing through the canopy. Spend an exciting hour watching them swing through the trees and interact with each other. Return to the lodge for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, enjoy East Africa’s only canopy walkway — a 60-meter-high suspended bridge offering panoramic views of the forest and a chance to spot birds and monkeys from above.
